The Union APARE-CME - France

The Union APARE-CME (France): an association with nearly 40 years’ experience in protecting, enhancing and promoting natural and cultural heritage in Provence, based in Isle sur la Sorgue, in the Luberon.

The Union APARE-CME (France)cme cThe Union APARE-CME was created in 1979 and has worked to help sustain rural communities through grass-roots development initiatives in Provence as well as Europe and the Mediterranean for nearly 40 years. The key to its approach is transnational cooperation favouring mobility, exchange, learning, solidarity and citizenship. Involving young people is also a priority to introduce them to new places and cultures and allow them to contribute to rural development projects alongside professionals and local communities. This combination is the inspiration for its annual heritage restoration volunteers workcamps, campuses and more strategic projects, like buy local, eat local campaigns, devising heritage discovery trails, environmental education and adapting to climate change.

The Union APARE-CME is the lead partner of the EuroRural Tourism Project.Roaming the dry stone trails of Provence 02ERT
